Watch Dr. Pimple Popper Make a Patient’s ‘Brain’ Spill Out While Removing a Cyst

• In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper skillfully removes an encapsulated cyst from a patient’s head.
• Commenters have likened the cyst to an eyeball and the cyst’s contents to brain matter in particularly gruesome descriptions.
• Cysts are filled with dead skin cells and keratin, which appear to be beige in color for this particular patient.

This Dr. Pimple Popper video may have you channeling your inner zombie. In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper — aka dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD — makes a patient’s “brain” spill out when removing a cyst on his head. While no internal organs were truly harmed in the process of this removal, some creative commenters likened the first portion of the procedure to some zombie-level cranium cracking.

“It looks like his brain came out,” one fan commented matter-of-factly.

But clearly this isn’t a brain bashing procedure. The growth Dr. Lee removes is an encapsulated cyst, which another commenter likens to an eyeball. The beige brain-like secretion prior to the cyst’s removal is likely some dead skin cells and keratin escaping from the largely contained structure.

The removal of the eyeball-like cyst in one piece may seem gruesome, but it’s actually a good thing. Removing a cyst effectively and permanently requires the removal of the cyst wall to ensure the growth doesn’t return. In the case of an encapsulated cyst, the process is made infinitely easier since doctors don’t need to snip away at the wall bit by bit. Rather, the cyst wall is the structure responsible for encapsulating the cyst, popping out in one piece.

Call it an extra eyeball or call it some spewing brain matter. It’s all just another day at the office for Dr. Pimple Popper.
